Scott Dixon will depart Chip Ganassi Racing when the 2026 season ends, bringing to a close a 24-year association with the team.
The 45-year-old New Zealander is moving to Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team for 2027. His 24-year stint with Ganassi represents the longest driver tenure with a single team in modern IndyCar racing, exceeding Helio Castroneves' 21 years at Team Penske.
Dixon secured all 6 of his championships with Ganassi and claimed 58 of his 59 career victories while driving for the team. He joined Ganassi midway through the 2002 season following the closure of his former team.
Chip Ganassi Racing said in a statement that Dixon "has meant so much to CGR over the past 24 years" and that together they had "shared championships, many victories, and countless moments that have helped define this organisation". The team said it offered Dixon a multi-year contract to retire with Ganassi, which he declined.
Dixon sits 10th in the 2026 championship with the season ongoing.
