The New Zealand dollar rose to 0.5650 against the US dollar as oil prices increased following tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
Oil prices climbed more than 2%, with Brent crude trading above $75 per barrel, after the Iranian Navy turned back ships trying to enter the Strait. A UK maritime group also reported a vessel hit by a projectile off the Omani coast.
