The New Zealand dollar rose to 0.5650 against the US dollar as the greenback weakened across major currencies.

The move came as US inflation data showed the core PCE deflator rose 0.3% in May, at the lower end of market expectations. Oil prices jumped 2% after the Iranian Navy attempted to assert control in the Strait of Hormuz, causing vessels to turn back. The NZD held above a support level of 0.5630 despite selling pressure.
