Facebook and Instagram experienced a global service disruption on Wednesday morning, preventing users from loading pages on the Meta-owned platforms.

More than 900 problem reports were logged on DownDetector around 9.46am New Zealand time. Services returned to normal operation after approximately 16 minutes. WhatsApp also showed a minor spike in user issues during the same period.
