The Dolphins beat the Warriors 26-24 at Suncorp Stadium on 27 June, securing their eighth consecutive victory after Jamayne Isaako converted Selwyn Cobbo's late try from the sideline.
The Warriors held a 24-20 lead when utility Samuel Healey crossed in the 75th minute. But Cobbo, who had earlier passed a head injury assessment in the 20th minute, drew the scores level at 24-24 three minutes later with his second try of the night.
Isaako kicked the match-winner from the touchline to finish with 14 points from two tries. With his nine-game run of 12 or more points, he became the first player in 118 years to achieve that mark across nine consecutive matches.
The Dolphins lost halfback Isaiya Katoa to a dislocated wrist in the 13th minute, with five-eighth Kodi Nikorima stepping up to control the match. Nikorima recorded his 23rd linebreak assist of the season, the most in the NRL, when he set up centre Herbie Farnworth for a try.
The Warriors fielded a side missing forwards James Fisher-Harris, Jackson Ford and Leka Halasima, and lost winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak to a hamstring injury in the second half. Second-rower Jacob Laban scored a try and provided an assist in a strong individual performance. The result continued a run of tight contests between the teams, with their previous five encounters all decided by margins of four points or fewer.
