A therapist in his 40s has been charged with indecent assault over alleged offending at his Glen Eden practice.

The man faces two charges and appeared before Auckland District Court. He is due back in court in September.

The accused ran a clinic in Glen Eden where he provided acupuncture and holistic therapy services.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Bunting, Waitematā West Area Investigations Manager, confirmed the charges and said "police acknowledge the courage of those who have come forward".

Police are appealing for other potential victims to contact them. "Even if you are unsure whether what occurred was an offence, police encourage you to come forward so the matter can be assessed," Bunting said.

Police have confirmed support is available for anyone reporting such incidents.
