Residents of Rāwene have been asked to conserve water until midday Saturday after a water leak depleted the township's reservoir.
The Far North District Council said the leak has been repaired but the reservoir needs time to refill and water pressure to return to normal levels. The leak left some parts of the township without supply.
Residents have been asked to put off laundry, reduce toilet flushing and cut down on shower time while the system recovers.
Rāwene is a township of around 470 people on the southern shore of the Hokianga Harbour in Northland.
