A person is in critical condition after an incident near Nelson Police Station on Wednesday morning.
Hato Hone St John received the call at 11:35am and dispatched a helicopter, ambulance, rapid response unit and operations manager to Bridge Street. One patient was transported to Nelson Hospital by ambulance in a critical condition.
Police cordoned off the intersection of Harley Street and Hardy Street but later removed it. Officers said they were not seeking anyone else and there appeared to be no ongoing threat to public safety. A vehicle was removed from the scene by tow truck.
