Christopher Meehan has stepped down as majority owner, chair and operator of Winton Land after ministers added two of the company's projects to the fast-track consenting programme.
Meehan and his wife Michaela donated more than $212,000 to National, ACT and NZ First.
Ministers approved Winton Land's Sunfield housing development and Ayrburn screen production hub for inclusion in the fast-track programme. The Sunfield project has been described as contentious.
