A driver has died in a collision involving one vehicle on State Highway 6 north of Kumara Junction on the West Coast.
The incident occurred around 5.30am on 26 June 2026. The motorist, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
The collision happened at a point close to where the Greymouth Kumara Tramway meets the highway, to the south of the Taramakau River.
One lane of the highway was cleared for traffic by 12.30pm on 26 June 2026 following an examination of the site by the Serious Crash Unit.
