A homeowner who fatally stabbed an intruder during an armed home invasion acted in self-defence and bears no criminal responsibility, a coroner has found.
The Coroners Court issued findings in a case where a resident killed a patched Mongrel Mob member who had entered their home. The intruder died from stab wounds to the legs.
The coroner determined the resident's actions met the legal test for self-defence and cleared them of any criminal liability for the death.
