The submission deadline for the Conservation Amendment Bill has been extended by 10 days to midday on Monday 13 July.
Minister Tama Potaka requested the Environment Committee facilitate broader discussion about the proposed legislation. He has signalled the Government will drop clauses that would have enabled more conservation land to be sold or exchanged.
The committee agreed to the extension and said it would hold public hearings where matters could be discussed in detail. Submissions already made remain valid.
